Tech

this year 2025 I became year 7 and went to tech the classes I am doing currently are cooking lessons so far we have made fruit salad, pizza buns, french toast, breakfast in a jar and frittatas. the way it works is we are in groups of 4 for cleaning up our kitchen and we make the food in pairs. with the groups of 4 we get a kitchen that we have to manage we have stuff like cutlery, dishes, oven and sink. we have to clean this kitchen so where all assigned numbers and each monday they change the jobs are wash, dry, spray and put away and special(helping the teacher with stuff). the lessons are very fun and i love to learn to cook.

and that is my experience so far with tech ask questions in the comments .

but today we did some statistics on google sheets but first we had to collect from other students and turn them into graphs later using google sheets.  The data we needed to gather was favourite colour, car type, favourite sport and transportation mode to school.  their were around  28 people in my class but I was able to interview 26 people this is the data I gathered

The NZ opera!

This week, on Wednesday we had the New Zealand Opera come and perform, The Elixir of Love. a story about a Nemorino who falls in love with Adina but she is more interested in rich and famous movie star Alfred.

these are the characters Dalcarmara, Alfred, Adina and Nemorino.

Something that I enjoyed about this performance was all funny jokes they decided to put in.

Something that I found interesting about this performance was how they even sung all the conversations.

Something that I learned about opera was that you really need to have good lung compacity or you will really struggle.

What do you know about opera?

Climate change and how it hurts our planet?

Climate change is a big problem its affecting are farming are health are weather and not in a good way for example when we burn fossil fuels it releases carbon dioxide which floats into are atmosphere increasing the amount of heat is trapped in the atmosphere affecting are weather making extreme weather more common. The weather can also effect farming like if crops dry out or drown in a flood. Blake VR

Blake V-R

This week we had a visit from Blake NZ-VR. The focus of the session was about Marine mammals.

The 3 things I found the most interesting about marine mammals were the glowing fish, the white and black stripe fish and the penguins/hoho.  I found these interesting because the glowing fish made the water around them orange and the striped fish were so big.

Something I enjoyed the most was being really high up above Auckland because I could see all of the boats below me.

My favourite part of the VR session was flying above the kamedic islands because I could see the giant mountains and rock formations.

Something I will take away from this visit was to take more care of the sea life around us because we need to keep fishy friends healthy .

What do you know about marine mammals?

Science roadshow

Yesterday we had a visit from the Science Roadshow. The focus of the session was Sound Waves.

Some of the main messages about Sound Waves were how sound waves go faster though over things because  solids, liquids, and gases have very different densities

Something I enjoyed the most was the piston engines because how the 2 stroke engine was easier to power

My favourite part of the Science Roadshow was the Morse code because i knew they use it in the army to send special messages

Something I will take away from this visit was how sound waves move because i liked how sound waves move faster though liquids gases and solids
